Special Needs for Special Dogs
Does your dog require elder care, or have other special needs?
We have professionals on staff who specialize in all these issues, and more. We can create a balanced program of exercise, weight loss, nutrition and a proper diet for your dog, and teach you how to continue the program at home. No extra charge, it's all part of the Canyon View approach to making sure your dog stays healthy and happy.
THE MAX FACTOR
IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME
Best of Breed Westminster, 1997
When it comes to taking care of your dogs, we believe in something we like to call The Max Factor. Max was our prize-winning Tibetan Terrier and the pride of our lives.
There was no way we’d ever put Max in a kennel when we went away on vacation, and it turns out lots of other dog lovers felt the same way. So we decided to create a new way of boarding dogs – where Max and all his doggie guests could run free and play in open fields with plenty of loving human contact. A place where owners can feel good about giving their dogs a vacation while they go on vacation. That’s how Canyon View began and we owe it all to our beloved Max (whose statue stands on the hillside where he watches over all your dogs).

And it's all surrounded by the most glorious canyon views Southern California has to offer.

DAILY DOGGIE DIARY
One of our dog guests, Pads, has given us permission to reprint entries from his daily doggie diary.
6:30 a.m. - Wake-up time. All dogs go out in the yards.
"I never get up this early at home - but here I can't wait to wake up and go out in the yards, say hi to my friends, stretch and sniff. And speaking of sniffing -- I sure wish Milo would get his nose out of my private parts. There's a reason they call them "private"!
7:30 a.m. - Dogs are brought back into the guest house and given breakfast.
"My favorite time of the day: breakfast. Plenty of good food, fresh water, just like home. (Note to self: send Mom & Dad post-card.)
8 a.m. - Morning nap-time
9 a.m. - noon - Back outside to romp in the yards and the pool.
Noon - lunch
12:30 - Siesta
"Even that snoring bulldog across the hall can't keep me awake (Note to staff: Earplugs would be a nice touch)"
2:30 - Back outside for more playtime
"I'm in love! It happened in the Tunnel of Love. Be still, my bark! Her name is Lola the Lhasa - and all I can say is 'Ooh-la-Lhasa'!"
5 p.m. - Biscuit break
6 p.m. Back outside for even more playtime.
"Turns out Lola the Lahsa hooked up with a labradoodle during biscuit break. (Note to self: lift leg on the lab).
7:30 p.m. - Dogs go back to private sleeping dens in the guest house.
"Back in my den for the night, where there's fresh bedding every night and a bed-time snack on our pillow (Note to Mom and Dad: get with the program).
8 a.m. Lights out.
"I am one pooped pooch. Can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow. [Note to self: tomorrow finally get around to writing that postcard to thank Mom & Dad for bringing me here.]"

MEET & GREET
It is of utmost importance to us that our doggie guests have fun here - and play well with each other. That's why we want to spend about 45 minutes to get to know you and your dog before you decide if Canyon View is the right vacation spot for your special friend. We want to make sure your dog will be comfortable and at ease in our open park-like environment, and to give you the reassurance that he or she will be in safe hands. Please call for an appointment.
